SMILING IS NOT CANCELLED //
I was wearing my mask out in the world today, and I smiled at a stranger as I passed her in the parking lot. I couldn’t tell if she smiled back, and I realized, she probably didn’t know I was smiling at her to begin with. That made me think- Will we start smiling less if we know no one can see it? I sure hope not.
.
The case for smiles. // Ready for the ‘cheesy’ but true connection? Turns out, smiling has a lot of the same health benefits as @theblackandbloom . Smiling can help boost the immune system by decreasing stress levels, which in turn increases white blood cell count and releases beneficial antibodies that help fight infection and disease. Smiling also decreases blood pressure and releases endorphins, making it a great way to boost not only your mood, but also your health.
.
Ever been around someone who was extra smiley? Chances are, you found yourself smiling more as well. This is because smiling is incredibly contagious. Research suggests that happy people strongly influence the people closest to them. These positive interactions provide a boost of energy and endorphins, along with more smiles and laughter, all of which work to decrease stress levels. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again- Lowering the amount of stress you hold in your body is a game changer. This alone will give your immune system a boost, decrease inflammation and lower anxiety among so many other things. So, next time you’re feeling down and you’re in a place where you don’t need a mask, mix up some Black & Bloom Morning Person, FaceTime your happiest friend and let the smiles begin.
